The Tricerahops ate my tooth!!

I hate the dentist, even more I hate the oral surgeon, I'm sure your wondering why I'm saying this, or maybe not. I had a wisdom tooth removed on Friday and today I am still swollen and have an awful chemical taste constantly oozing into the back of my throat, yeah it's really making the day fun. Best of all my cheek is now turning yellow as the blood finally coagulates and dies under my skin. I half look like Marlin Brando and half look like I'm dying, I don't know which is worse.
Anyway to the beer, oh yes the beer, I almost forgot. So obviously I couldn't taste all that well this weekend even to the point that I ducked out of going to the Oregon Garden Brew Fest because, well I didn't think I would enjoy the beer all that well with a really swollen throbbing mouth. However I did break open a beer that my wife got me a couple of weeks ago made by the fine people at Ninkasi called Total Domination IPA. This beer was very hoppy much like opening a fresh bag of cascades, it had a good citrusy note, and a fair amount of bitterness. The beer pored a nice golden amber color with a small white head. I wouldn't say this beer was balanced, it was a bit too bitter for my taste, but after all it is an IPA so it fits the style. I will say that if you want a seriously good IPA last weekend I had Ninkasi's Tricerahops double IPA. At around 8% abv this is a strong brew but you know what, you can't taste the alcohol, the hop aroma and flavor is wonderful, and the boost in grain bill balances this beer wonderfully making this beer land on my A list of beers. I have been more than impressed with Ninkasi, my favorite is still Ninkasi's Believer Double Red, this beer is like candy, with the high abv, awesome floral notes, and silky smoothness this is a very dangerous brew, believe me.
