Pear bread or is it?

I'm aware that I haven't blogged in a while. Honestly lately I haven't been able to see where I'm ever really going to get to my goal of owning a bakery some day. Maybe I'm impatient but damn it is really easy to think that you will always be stuck where you are. Anyway enough about that. I tried a pear bread recipe that a coworker recommended last week. While I was making this recipe I thought to myself that this seemed very much like the zucchini bread recipe I have used in the past. You know what? It was, with pears instead of zucchini. I have to say it's good but you can't taste the pear at all, so I'm thinking to myself this kind of defeats the purpose of using pears. I'm also thinking you could use shredded cardboard and because cinnamon, sugar, and nuts are part of the mix, zucchini like bread will come out of the oven. Pears are not a strong fruit in the flavor realm thus they need to be brought forth with other more delicate flavors. I think a lighter bread, probably something leaven, would allow the pears to shine. This recipe doesn't get a thumbs down entirely but stick with the zucchini for this recipe it's easier to come by.
