Davinci's, eat your heart out

My wife and I spent a very nice evening watching a relative play jazz last night at Davinci's in Salem. The music I will say was very good but the food, while very tasty, was very expensive and not so filling. Sometimes I can get aggravated when I pay a lot for very little in the way of food. I will admit we as American's eat heart suicide portions,( just look around next time your at the mall) but if your going to give me the equivalent of 3-4 bites of pasta don't charge me $15.00 for it. It's not good when you go to dinner and come home nearly as hungry as before you ordered off the menu in my opinion. Off my soap box now, despite my disappointment I did harvest an idea for a new recipe similar to last nights dinner at a fraction of the cost. Pesto Cream sauce with shrimp and mushrooms is what has been described by my wife as "some seriously awesome sauce" that really isn't all that hard to make and impress. Oh and because I can, I made fresh noodles with my pasta maker. No messing around this is a hand crank model made in Italy none of that Ron Popeil crap!!
